Definition (What is digital marketing?)

When we refer to digital marketing, we are essentially talking about promoting your business online with the help of various channels. And these channels are listed as search, social, video, email, and display.
or in a simple way....

“Digital Marketing is a platform or a medium through which you can promote your product or brand using electronic devices or the internet.”

When the term referred as advertising and delivering that's where digital marketing comes in. As a business, you would face the difficulties throughout the journey a buyer takes. With so many user interaction points and what seems like an endless amount of channels, digital marketing can feel overwhelming. To focus it, let's look at the three types of media you'll be using in digital marketing: paid, owned, and earned.
Your paid media will structure everything that you simply, well, pay for. This will add channels like Google AdWords, Facebook paid ads, and display marketing.
Your owned media will cover channels like your website, your list of consumers that you simply use to send emails, and a blog with an effective readership.
Earned media is the world of organic press. Your social media accounts, mentions on other blogs, and articles written about you create up the channels within earned media.
Now, all of these channels overlap just as a user will overlap as they interact with each other. And, together, these structures the inspiration for digital marketing.

Digital Marketing is done in both the ways: Online and Offline

Why digital Marketing is important?

The main reason for marketing would have a lot of options. It is always related to the strategies attached to it and also you can be creative and experiment with every little aspect of the marketing campaign. But when you compare this with the traditional way of marketing, this is impossible.
The task that you can complete online cannot be done with the help of traditional marketing. So Traditional marketing firms would be printing ads, phone communication and also physical marketing.

Do you remember billboards?    I remember.......

Let's take an example,
Now say if you want to start your business and you want to promote them. You cannot go to everybody's house knock on their doors and tell I'm going to start this project or I'm going to work on this would you please help me do it?
No. Nobody in the recent days do that. So one platform that you can really put your thoughts beyond your ideas on what you are going to do is digital marketing. So you can actually get a lot of support from the other people who are already working on it and also you can get a lot of guidance.
So this is exactly why you need to master digital marketing. Now you have understood why this is required.

Digital Marketing Strategy

Being digital for the sake of just having a presence in these channels isn't the solution. Without investing time during a strategy, you are not only missing great opportunities, but you will leave your business behind. Because digital marketing is so generous, it is easy to see your overall strategy as three different strategies that all share a common goal. These approach covers your business, customers and marketing.

The first of our three strategies is:
1. Business Strategy - Here, we want to identify the mission statement, objectives, value proposition, and the elevator pitch. These four elements help to focus our attention and they'll make it easier as we glance at our customer and marketing strategies.

  • Mission Statement – A one-sentence summary that defines what you’re trying to do.
  • Organizational Objectives - Pieces necessary to keep the business running and to maintain your brand identity.
  • Value Proposition - we need to identify the value proposition of those objectives. Why do you stand out? What makes you unique? Why would someone choose you over your competitor? Ideally, you'll select one or two value propositions for every objective.
  • Elevator PitchA summary of your brand
2. Building a brand strategy - At this point, we've got a good understanding of our business, but now we need to understand who our customer is and where we'll find them. With our approach towards customers, we are trying to do three things.
  • Reach the correct audience - It would be a waste of time and advertising spend to pursue the wrong audience.

  • Understand that audience - Know what it is that motivates them as it relates to our objectives.
  • Where we'll find that audience, or more specifically, what marketing channel we can leverage to connect with them.

3. Building a marketing strategy - Digital marketing is an iterative process and you'll work to continuously improve upon these ideas. As you build out a new audience, new objectives, and new channels, you make sure that you have covered your marketing strategy. It's important to be flexible. As you collect more and more data, you will be ready to meet and get closer to your real targets. . Spend time doing research to further understand your business, your customers, and therefore the marketing channels available to you. You can choose to implement all the strategies available or choose to ignore some.

Scope of Digital Marekting

Now digital marketing industry is at its peak and the moment due to many reasons are these points it is flexible since the entire work can be done on the internet. This is also considered to be true because the traditional media are being completely overshadowed by the internet LED digital marketing due to the high engagement factors, the brands and companies have begun to give extra emphasis to the ad campaigns run on the Internet or over the television advertisements and the next we have the job opportunities. Like I mentioned the number of job opportunities in the field of Digital marketing is very massive. The more user engagement the more job opportunities.

Components of digital marketing

Every year, additional marketing opportunities present themselves online. And the reason is that people are creating and adopting new technologies and discovering new ideas. As a marketer the amount of options you have is almost overwhelming.
It is important to note that your strategy does not need to include every available marketing channel. You may end up using the handful of ones we discuss, or you may succeed in taking advantage of other paths that are not part of these core components. With such a wide range of options, it is important to evaluate which channels make the most sense. If you are working with limited resources, then you have to prioritize which channels you want to start with. And on the same vein, if you’re looking for a new channel, it’s a good idea to find out how it will affect your day-to-day life. To do this, I like the effort required to create the channel and evaluate each based on the value in doing so.
